"Nous sommes etranges, à Saint Germain de Pres"

Juliette Gréco was born in
Montpellier to a Corsican father and a mother who became active in the Résistance, in the Hérault département of southern France. She was raised by her maternal grandparents. Gréco also became involved in the Résistance, and was caught but not deported because of her young age. She moved to Saint-Germain-des-Prés in 1946 after her mother left the country for Indochina. [citation needed]

Gréco became a devotee of the bohemian fashion of some intellectuals of post-war France. A famous description of Gréco is that her voice "encompasses millions of poems". [cite this quote] She was known to many of the writers and artists working in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, such as Jean-Paul Sartre and Boris Vian. [cite this quote]

Gréco spent the post liberation years frequenting the Saint Germain cafes, immersing herself in political and philosophical Bohemian culture.

... wonderfullest music ever.

That time of year..

Big flashy signs, messy clothes racks, underwear on the floor, fingers fumbling for the price tag, girls fighting over dresses.... its SALE!

and im in the middle if london,, perfect for doing nothing but shopping - which i am, but im uncapable of buying anything. im so fucking practical, thinking "oh, but i wont really need that... and i kinda have something like it already"
all im able to buy is big cheap, loose blouses from H&M. and i forced myself to buy this skirt the other day, because it was pretty, we were in a market (Camden market) full of clothes, and thats what normal people would do :S

7. dresses, skirts, sweaters, tshirts and tight blouses.
8. jeggings.. maybe. tights definatly! (i live in those things)

Im sorry.

Oil spill 2010.

Clifford castle.

I wanna tell you about this castle in York. it really made a big impression on me.

a long time ago, under the rule of king Alexander, all Jews were persecuted in England. on March 16th, 150 Jews and Jewesses hid in this castle from an approaching mob. they chose to die in each others arms rather than surrender to the persecutors.
the idea of them killing each other, rather than surrendering impresses me, and terrifies me. i can imagine it so well:
late at night, the fear of the approaching mob, all these people huddled together in the small castle - their last hope. the mob coming nearer. making the decision to kill themselves. the desperation. but i cant picture them actually killing themselves, i cant imagine that.

knickers.

so the second hand shop i told you about was amazing. they had this wonderful blue velvet blazer with big gold bottons, amongst others, and i cant stop thinking about it. there was just one problem: everything was crazily expansive! i was so mad, i didnt buy anything :'(
... instead me and my ipod went for a walk and i bought cute underwear to cheer me up :D im in love with topshop's underwear section.

"I wrote a song about you" "Really!?" "Its called bitch in a uniform".

Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging

Cute movie :) and i bought a uniform skirt, it was cheep and i love it.

I wish scarves were in right now. my throat is dying.

other than that, ive been in Lusaka, Joburg, London and now Bath during the last 48 hours. and very happy.
